For the last two months, I haven’t been as active as I was on social media, so I had to step away from blogging and social media. The last time I posted was December 26, 2021. It was excellent for me to get away!

It’s no secret or a surprise that social media can be a toxic place to be on. The more I’m exposed to it, the worse off my emotions are. I don’t engaged in any hot topic conversations, be it in the comments section or a forum. But witnessing the toxicity in those exchanges do lend to my own negativity. Yeah, yeah, yeah —“Just don’t read the comments,” one might say. Which is why I haven’t really been present on social media for the last two months 🤪 saved for a rare post during that time.

It’s wonderful not being on social media all the time, not having to feel as if I have to be in other people’s lives and businesses. Although they volunteered their information on the internet and I volunteered myself to read them. As well because I’m dealing with my own internal struggles, I don t want to invite others’ mess and even successes into my head and heart.

Blogging is part of social media, so I had to stop blogging for a while too while I got myself together. But it’s good to ease back into social media, if only to see how my friends, relatives, and acquaintances are doing without getting caught up in their lives like I’m on a boat heading for a waterfall. As I made it a habit before, I must remember to shake off other people’s emotions. I’m not going to get into all that muck when I have my own muck to deal with.
