For those interested in the self-publishing industry, here is the free August 2013 newsletter “Publishing Poynters” from Dan Poynter, the leading expert in the industry for about 40 years. He founded and runs Para Publishing,  which “collects, processes, publishes and disseminates critical safety information on parachute design and skydiving techniques according to the company’s website,” according to Para Publishing website.

Poynter wrote what may be the bible of the self-publishing industry, Dan Poynter’s Self-Publishing Manual, Vol. I and its sequel, which helps self publishers navigate their way through the industry in the digital age. The original manual has many things a person needs to know about the industry: book layout, book cover design, promotion, marketing, etc.
